Hyperia is Thorpe Park’s headline hypercoaster, built by Mack Rides to deliver sustained speed, height and airtime in a tight layout that never lets up. After a commanding climb, the ride drops into a twisted, barrel-roll style downdrop that sets the tone: fast, flowing and deliberately disorienting without being rough. The first act focuses on speed and weightlessness, with outer-banked turns that float riders out of their seats and quick directional changes that keep the train dancing above the water. A non-inverting Immelmann acts like a graceful crest, giving panoramic views before plunging back into the valley. Hyperia’s middle section strings together rapid S-bends and an extended stall sequence where the train seems to hang against the sky. The finale threads a dramatic dive loop-style element and a sweeping splashdown pass that cools the pacing without stealing momentum, before a final airtime pop into the brakes. Theming leans into an elegant “goddess of courage” motif—golden accents, sculptural forms and an orchestral score—so the station feels celebratory rather than industrial. There’s a modern restraint system and roomy trains that keep the experience open and airy, letting the near-80-mph wind do the storytelling. Hyperia doesn’t chase brutal forces or record-chasing gimmicks; instead it balances height, speed and two statement inversions with generous airtime and clear sightlines over the lake. The result is a confident, contemporary UK marquee coaster that rewards repeat rides from front to back.
